Just … Ugh, it’s really hard to explain.

Basically I came into the show loving it because it was the fucking stupidest shit I had ever seen in my entire life. And along the way I started to ship Sterek. But then season 2 came around and with it came the fandom, rising from the depths of hell to destroy everything.

At first, I was happy as hell because yay awesome more people to talk about it with and write fanfiction I can read and make music videos wow cool hoorah! And at first I just thought the complete idiocy was going to be what ruined it all (“Look at these rocks they remind me of Sterek LET ME WRITE A WHOLE FUCKING FIC ABOUT STEREK AS ROCKS!”) but in the end, it was a mixture of that plus the people who decided … Well, decided that anyone who didn’t think along the same lines as them was an asshole.

Say I don’t like Scott (I do now, but I didn’t for a majority of the series), suddenly that made me racist because the main character wasn’t my favorite character or whatever. News flash, it’s very fucking rare for a main character to be my favorite (I don’t much like Dean Winchester, Harry Potter is my sixth or seventh favorite in that series, I like Natasha more than Tony, etc). And I was no longer allowed to call Scott stupid, even though he is. Adorable stupid (“My mom does all the grocery shopping :|”), but nonetheless he is undeniably a space cadet. And shipping Sterek suddenly became a bad thing. “Why are you ignoring Danny? Why are you shipping this thing instead of this thing? Are you only watching the show because of that ship? That’s really rude and fetishizing and stuff.” And then when the show pretty much split into two packs (Scott’s and Derek’s) it was always, “Why are you siding with Derek he’s such a dick and Scott’s the main character so he’s the hero,” and it just became this huge mess of crap where if you didn’t like this character or this character you got shamed, if you liked this ship over this ship you got shamed, etc. And, god, I am not even going to get into the whole Allison thing and how I’m apparently not allowed to be mad at her because sexism (I’m sure she’ll redeem herself later or whatever and I’ll like her again soon enough but for now SHE SHOT THE PUPPIES AND I’M PISSED).

And you know what? A lot of the times I agree with some of the things this fandom gets angry about (Jeff Davis being a dick and casting a character named Kali as white had me steaming mad for a week, or the bit where people basically forgave Peter the second he rose from the dead and started calling him “sassy uncle” or whatever even though HE RIPPED LYDIA TO SHREDS AND KILLED LAURA WOW NOT OKAY).

Basically, I just … I’m fucking tired of not being able to have an opinion in this fandom unless it’s opinion that saves you from getting a reamed. Scott’s an idiot (albeit an adorable one), Allison is on my shitlist right now, I ship Sterek, Derek is my favorite character ~~with Lydia as a close second~~ because he’s an asshole and his life sucks and I love him, and I like Isaac more than Boyd and Erica (though I love all of them) because I identify with him the most out of the three puppies. The end.

Literally the only reason I’m gonna watch Teen Wolf this season is because of Derek, not even...
